Why I’m a photographer
Here we are, hurtling through space on this rock called Earth and in the middle of all that, you found someone you really love! So much so that you want to spend your life with them. Now, you are looking for someone who will use a camera to paint with light to capture a reflection of the love you feel for each other. That is truly profound.
It matters to me that my photos capture the way only you hold your partner’s hand. The unique way you smile at each other, and that laugh that only he makes.
Great photography takes a commitment from both of us to open ourselves to each other. It starts with us being willing to step out of our bubbles of comfort and to connect with each other in a real way. Getting to know each other is the first step in capturing truthful moments and great photos.
I (me and my assistant) have photographed weddings across the country since 2005.
I meet strangers and I fall in love with their stories instantly and discover hidden treasures in all my couples, although they thought it was hidden well.
You may feel as if you are to shy when eyes are on you, thus I promise I will seek out your realness and make it visible. You may worry that your session won’t be what you had expected but I promise you it will be fun.
I promise that your whispered “I Love You” will look beautiful on your images.
MODERN AUTHENTIC PHOTOGRAPHY
I love fun, laughter and true emotions. Just fun photos of you and your favourite people. I love our couples and their guests to play, dance, joke, kiss, cuddle – do whatever they want – that’s where the real moments, emotions, expressions and awesomeness comes from.
I am not just your photographer, I am your friend who can laugh, joke and take part in your wedding with you and your guests. We (me and my assistant) leave every wedding feeling part of the family.
Tradition is nice and we photograph and video-graph many types of weddings but we do love a bit of ‘different’.
Photography for us is about living in this moment.
It is the feeling of mist kissing your face on the bow of a boat, it is the sparkling eyes of the partner you love with every cell of of your being, it is the fresh wind at sunset.
It is a form of mindfulness and a process of existing in each moment as fully as possible. Photography is a way of sharing the feelings and textures of life with others.
Our (Photographer and assistant) style for 85% of your wedding day is captured in a documentary style, capturing all of the real moments that happen without intervention; photographing your day exactly as it happens.
The other 15% which requires some staging/posing is the group shots and the couple portraits. Both of which I try to capture as quick as possible so your not away from the wedding party too long. I also throw in plenty of laughter and jokes during this time to create more natural looking expressions. Nothing is stiff, cheesy and awkward.
Photographing the vast majority of your day in a candid, documentary method really helps to showcase your images after the wedding, bringing back the emotion of your day.
We would love to hear from you.
